Admission Criteria

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

Major (DSC) Minimum Eligibility Criteria  for Admission for the Academic Session 2024-25
BENGALI Course of studies provided he/she has passed with English as a subject.

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the
Bengali at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in Bengali in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the
subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other
clauses are satisfied                                                                                                                                               

Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled tribe
category must have obtained 40% marks in the aggregate and 40%
marks in Bengali at the previous qualifying
examination (10+2 level) for being eligible for admission in the
Honours programme of study
ENGLISH Course of studies provided he/she has passed with English as a subject.

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in English at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in English or related subject in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the
subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other
clauses are satisfied


Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled tribe
category must have obtained 40% marks in the aggregate and 40%
marks in English at the previous qualifying
examination (10+2 level) for being eligible for admission in the
Honours programme of study
HISTORY Course of studies provided he/she has passed with English as a subject.

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the
subject (History)  at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in the subject (History)  in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the
subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other
clauses are satisfied


Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled tribe
Category must have obtained 40% marks in the aggregate and 40%
marks in the History at the previous qualifying
examination (10+2 level) for being eligible for admission in the
Honours programme of study
POLITICAL SCIENCE Course of studies provided he/she has passed with English as a subject.

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the
subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in the subject or related subject in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the
subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other
clauses are satisfied


Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled tribe
category must have obtained 40% marks in the aggregate and 40%
marks in the subject/related subjects at the previous qualifying
examination (10+2 level) for being eligible for admission in the
Honours programme of study
SANSKRIT Course of studies provided he/she has passed with English as a subject.

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the
subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in the subject or related subject in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the
subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other
clauses are satisfied


Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled tribe
category must have obtained 40% marks in the aggregate and 40%
marks in the subject/related subjects at the previous qualifying
examination (10+2 level) for being eligible for admission in the
Honours programme of study
PHILOSOPHY Course of studies provided he/she has passed with English as a subject.

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in Philosophy or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in Philosophy or related subject in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the
subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other
clauses are satisfied


Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled tribe
category must have obtained 40% marks in the aggregate and 40%
marks in Philosophy/related subjects at the previous qualifying
examination (10+2 level) for being eligible for admission in the
Honours programme of study
ECONOMICS Mandatory Subject Requirements at Higher Secondary Level:  Mathematics Course of studies provided he/she has also passed with English as a subject.

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the
subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in the subject or related subject in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the
subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other
clauses are satisfied

GEOGRAPHY Mandatory Subject Requirements at Higher Secondary Level: Geography/Economics/Statistics/Mathematics/Biology

Course of studies provided if he/she has also passed with English as a subject.

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the
subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in the subject or related subject in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the
subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other

55% marks in the subject or related subject in the previous qualifying

50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the

BOTANY Mandatory Subject Requirements at Higher Secondary Level:   Botany/Biology/Biotechnology/Life science, and provided if he/she has also passed with English as a subject.

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the
subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in the subject or related subject in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the

subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
55% marks in the subject or related subject in the previous qualifying
examination
OR
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the

General Course / Programme Minimum Eligibility Criteria  for Admission for the Academic Session 2024-25
Three Years Multidisciplinary B.A. Degree in Humanities Course of studies provided if he/she has also passed with English as a subject. A candidate must have passed H.S. Or any equivalent (10+2) examination from any recognized Board/Council.
Three Years Multidisciplinary B.A. Degree in Social Science Course of studies provided if he/she has also passed with English as a subject. A candidate must have passed H.S. Or any equivalent (10+2) examination from any recognized Board/Council.
Three Years Multidisciplinary B.Sc. Degree in Physical Science Course of studies provided if he/she has also passed with English as a subject. A candidate must have passed H.S. Or any equivalent (10+2) examination in Science with Mathematics, Physics and  Chemistry from any recognized Board/Council.
Three Years Multidisciplinary B.Sc. Degree in Life Science Course of studies provided if he/she has also passed with English as a subject. A candidate must have passed H.S. Or any equivalent (10+2) examination in Science with Biology from any recognized Board/Council.
